IB Visit: Last week, a team of IB educators evaluated the program at PBMS. Prior to the visit, we submitted our curriculum in the form of Unit Planners, assessments, student work, videos of the school, school policies, and a self study for review. The team then engaged in Zoom interviews and classroom visits to further examine what we do here. They met with teachers of every department, the student support team, parents, students and district leadership. On Friday, they shared preliminary findings in the form of commendations and matters to be addressed. Overall, they were impressed with our students, teachers, facility, and program. Here is some of the feedback:

  • Commendations: Service, community project,  international mindedness, IB learner profile, language learning, collaborative planning, Teaching & Learning
  • Next steps: Strengthen written curriculum & calibrate assessment

Open Minded: This month, we are focusing on the IB Learner Profile trait - Open Minded: We respect the views, values and traditions of other individuals and cultures, and are accustomed to seeking and considering a range of points of view.
